The enthusiasm for Turn The Towns Teal® just continues to grow! I so sincerely hope that all of you who participated feel fulfilled in the knowledge that you were proactive in saving women’s lives. THANK YOU ALL!!! If you did not participate this year and would like to next year, please email us at info@turnthetownsteal.org as we’d welcome your support for next year’s campaign.
The fact that we continue to grow is proof positive that we are filling a void. We are giving a voice to ovarian cancer survivors, and we continue to provide solace for those who have lost a loved one to this dreaded disease. As far as I know, we are the ONLY national organization devoted solely to the awareness of ovarian cancer and its often silent symptoms.
This, the fifth year for Turn The Towns Teal, was one of our most exciting. We inaugurated our new website which we hope you all find useful and informative. We produced a 4/color tri~fold brochure, and we worked very successfully with the Atlas Warehouse which did a terrific job expediting all your orders.
On behalf of the Executive Committee of Turn The Towns Teal, I want to take this opportunity to thank Richard Cacciato, President of Frederick Wildman, importers of fine wines. Richie initiated a wine campaign for two of their wines, Folonari & Trapiche. During the month of September, fifty cents from every bottle sold is donated to Turn The Towns Teal. Each bottle has a necker which details the campaign AND has the symptoms of ovarian cancer.
Additionally, we want to thank the Allendale Woman’s Club which has made us the recipient of the proceeds of a walk they sponsored in honor of one of their members who succumbed to ovarian cancer and sincere thanks to ALL who contributed this past year!!
A word about fund raising……PLEASE know that the monies we receive for the volunteer packages do NOT begin to cover our expenses. Our Executive Committee donates their time and financial support to Turn The Towns Teal. We need to hire a part time Volunteer Coordinator. We need funds to produce more materials. At times we need the advice of an attorney; so we have legal expenses. We have insurance, accounting, warehousing, printing, and website consultations & costs, etc. ALL of which require funding.
THEREFORE, we encourage you to host walks/runs, etc. on our behalf so that we can continue carrying this most important message of ovarian cancer awareness and its symptoms which IS saving women’s lives.
AGAIN, MY MOST SINCERE THANKS TO YOU ALL!
Jane MacNeil
President
